Critiques

:iconaqua-rat:
There is a great deal of balance in this piece. Firstly the words quite clearly describe the image. Also the dark pink colour of the letters reflects the dark pink to be seen in the white peony and also represents the idea of blushing.
The largest touch of dark pink in the peony is balanced visually across from the fly.
From the words we are led to wonder if the flower blushes because of the fly's caress, since a blush would be a human response to a touch.
The atmosphere of the verse and the photograph is romantic: there is the soft focus of the edges of the photo, the dew-drops, the purity of the white petals, the passionate intensity of the dark pink; there is the elegance and colour of the lettering and the use of words like blushing and caress.
The brightness of the image awakens the senses and gives the piece impact. Also the contrast between the beauty of the peony and the idea of a fly, normally seen as a germ-ridden and unattractive pest, heightens the impact.

Lovely. The smidgen of red balances the fly perfectly.

:w00t!: Thank you! You see this very well. I always love seeing what others take away from a haiku.
