My poems will be in the artists comments, for some strange reason - DA will not let me edit the text - so all 31 days will be in this deviation until I can get it figured out! Dang DA sprites.... :D |

the muses have gone - time to put this haikuthon to rest. Thank you to all for being a part of something amazing! 30 white clouds -under- star filled skies -over- plowed fields -under- clouds of snow -over- plowed fields -under- skies star filled -over- (repeat ) This is not technically a haiku (see further notes below - it is incomplete) - of course. But if you were to take out the over and unders I feel it can be. First -the images alternate white, white/black, black, white, black, black/white. Second - black symbolizes (as we know) death (which is in the dirt - which promotes life) darkness, masculine, mystery. Third - white symbolizes water, life, feminine, understanding. Fourth - Reading this forward provides answers of which are readily apparent. Fifth - reading this backwards provides questions which are not so readily apparent. (Example - "Skies star filled under what?") This leads to further questions - like - "What are star filled skies?" ""Why is it over plowed fields?" What do the star filled skies have to do with plowed fields?" Each step up in reading it having it's own unique set of "How's? and Why's?" Hopefully these questions lead to the ultimate question, "What is it all about?" Sixth- If you were to take the color meanings (black and white) and blend them like paint, they would become a muddy gray and therefore unknowable to us. If you separate them into black and white as in Yin and Yang answers appear. If you were to set them in a circle like slices of pie with black, white, white and black and black and white slices and spin them - they will transform into color, much like the world as we see it - alive and in color. Seventh - This poem also represent our water cycle. Clouds of snow is what I think of when I see the way that snow fills in the dips of the plowed ground - they look like clouds to me. I wrote this as a circle poem - inspired by b1gfan However, I am still learning how to properly present it. I have a great idea, but I am fighting a learning curve in PS. The way it will be presented in it's visual form makes it a true haiku. I wrote it here because it is now the 31st and I need to work on my last haiku. I will be swinging by everybody's gallery this weekend and featuring my favorites as well as everyone who completed the haikuthon this time around! See you all soon! 29 Day 29 Click Here 28 dear moon, what will you see - a thousand years after me? CommentsBoth beautiful so far, I love the images you've used and how you don't say your message explicity in the haiku. I'll definitely be checking up on your progress, good luck completing the haikuthon!
-- A stitch in time mucks up the space-time continuum. Clicking this link will give you superpowers*. *May just be a very sneaky way to make you look at my page. But probably not. Yes, it was discouraging, I tried everything to get it to edit - and the only way I could think of to make the insanity stop was to write the poems in the writer's comments. I did not want to start again on a new deviation, I want everything together this time. No photography in this one. I think one of my Firefox scripts that I use on this forum is messing with the editing of deviations. I will definitely ask the help desk today.
I hope inspiration keeps coming in! Thank you for the comment! *insert cheerleader emote here* "Go, haijin! Go! Go!" -- 365 I feel like I have come a long ways from my first efforts, I hope to continue to grow.
