Literature Text

My poems will be in the artists comments, for some strange reason - DA will not let me edit the text - so all 31 days  will be in this deviation until I can get it figured out!  Dang DA sprites....  :D
31

the muses have gone -
time to put
this haikuthon to rest.

Thank you to all for being a part of something amazing!

white clouds
-under-
star filled skies
-over-
plowed fields
-under-
clouds of snow
-over-
plowed fields
-under-
skies star filled
-over-

(repeat )

This is not technically a haiku (see further notes below - it is incomplete) - of course. But if you were to take out the over and unders I feel it can be.

First -the images alternate white, white/black, black, white, black, black/white.

Second - black symbolizes (as we know) death (which is in the dirt - which promotes life) darkness, masculine, mystery.

Third - white symbolizes water, life, feminine, understanding.

Fourth - Reading this forward provides answers of which are readily apparent.

Fifth - reading this backwards provides questions which are not so readily apparent. (Example - "Skies star filled under what?") This leads to further questions - like - "What are star filled skies?" ""Why is it over plowed fields?" What do the star filled skies have to do with plowed fields?" Each step up in reading it having it's own unique set of "How's? and Why's?" Hopefully these questions lead to the ultimate question, "What is it all about?"

Sixth- If you were to take the color meanings (black and white) and blend them like paint, they would become a muddy gray and therefore unknowable to us. If you separate them into black and white as in Yin and Yang answers appear. If you were to set them in a circle like slices of pie with black, white, white and black and black and white slices and spin them - they will transform into color, much like the world as we see it - alive and in color.

Seventh - This poem also represent our water cycle. Clouds of snow is what I think of when I see the way that snow fills in the dips of the plowed ground - they look like clouds to me.

I wrote this as a circle poem - inspired by b1gfan
However, I am still learning how to properly present it. I have a great idea, but I am fighting a learning curve in PS. The way it will be presented in it's visual form makes it a true haiku. I wrote it here because it is now the 31st and I need to work on my last haiku. I will be swinging by everybody's gallery this weekend and featuring my favorites as well as everyone who completed the haikuthon this time around! See you all soon!

28

dear moon,
what will you see -
a thousand years
after me?

Inspired by Watching the Moon Again an incredible artist I stumbled upon this morning. :iconjerry8448:

27

sangre luna
tonight you wear a black mask -
why?

Spanish may be placed wrong.

26

Pleasures

delighting in you
recalling secrets
of me.

I just can't write another haiku about snow. Isn't love in the air?

25

matryoshkas
Joseph, Mary and Jesus -
empty, empty, full.

This Easter I am thinking about the fact that I believe Joseph was the ultimate in step-dads.

24
Found in a Widow's Dresser

hidden away,
an empty bottle
of his cologne.

23

snow is falling
on the Easter Bunny -
that just ain't right.

:iconchugglepuff:
So this is not supposed to make a statement as a haiku and I am to let the reader draw their own conclusion, but come on already! Snow? On Easter???? Ugggggggggghhhhhhh!!!

22

gentle drizzle
melts snow.

21

cold moon!
crows huddle
in snow below.

Across the street from the White House, are many homeless people. :(

20

light touches
inside
open vases.

Thanks moyanii  Your help is much appreciated! :D

19

spring -
snow dashed
plows rumble by.

Edited at an excellent suggestion -:D I had almost forgotten what snow plows sound like already. I do that every year, and then I wake up in the middle of the night thinking, "What's that sound?"

18

shamrock decorations
trashed -
party's over.

17

muddy footprints
in the kitchen -
spring sneaks in.

16

under the gutter
with my Snoopy umbrella
snow melt cascades down.

For all you 5-7-5ers out there... :D I felt inspired today with another umbrella image. I used to do this when I was a little girl, I got a new umbrella - but mom would never let me play in the rain with it, so I used it under the gutter when the rain stopped. I love this memory of my childhoood.

15

pat, pat, pattering
on my new umbrella -
spring snow.

14

winter's nearly done -
the ash still holds tightly
to her children.

Sometimes it may be important to keep your children close if it means they will have a better chance in life.

13

mountains and sky
at rest on the water,
I put my camera away.

I never got this shot, and I remember it all vividly.

12

saddles, not stools
line the bar -
drugstore cowboys fit right in.

Western kitsch... Very tacky - < pardon the pun! :giggle:

11

bikes
parked at school,
no one said, "snow today."

10

........order up!!!
sassy waitress brings grump
smiley face fries.

He was very fussy, "excessively busy with trifles; anxious or particular about petty details." Dictionary.com while being very grumpy about it.
After our dining partner embarrassed us, our waitress got the last word. $5 tip for her can do attitude!

even here,
in elegant surroundings:
dust covers.

8

BLT-
hints of summer
on a melty snow day.

Lunch. :D

7

Royal Flush
beats Straight Flush -
profanities still hang in the air.

My coworker came to work with this story, and me - being the smart ass that I am - wrote this haiku to commemorate his loss. Look soon for a deviation with the exact hand and haiku together! I plan to give him a framed keepsake. :giggle:

6

making sacred circles
in the snow,
little dog, Lynn and.....

Edited by excellent suggestion! :D

5

a chance spring rain -
I am back under the eave
stealing kisses from You

4

pretty smile approaching -
guts suck in,
chests stick out.

An attractive woman started work today, all of the middle age men are getting a work out! :giggle:

3

life stories
and warm sake pour freely -
what's left to say?

3 My birthday with friends, anyone who has drank full bottles of the stuff can easily understand. :D

2

looking back,
tracks show the right sole broken,
lost in the dirty snow.

(2. Lost souls, lost dreams, old age in the end.)

1

Manse!
Blood Stained snows have melted,
Wildflowers bloom here now.

(1. Manse - Ten thousand years. In honor of March 1st, 1919 - South Korea's struggle for independence from Japan.)
